Pastoral Support Offer

My name is Elizabeth Dunstan, and I am the Pastoral Lead at Kingsway Primary School. My role is to work closely with children, families and staff to ensure that every child feels safe, supported, understood and able to thrive both emotionally and academically.

Our Pastoral Hub is designed to provide individualised support for children and their families. We understand that every child’s experiences, needs and strengths are unique, which is why all support begins with an initial baseline assessment to help us gain a full understanding of the child and family’s needs. From this, we create tailored support plans that are reviewed regularly and adapted as needed.

We believe in working with families through every step of the process. Parents and carers are kept fully informed throughout, with open communication, collaborative planning and regular updates to ensure that support remains effective and meaningful.

Our pastoral approach focuses on building trusting relationships, promoting wellbeing, listening to pupil voice, and creating positive outcomes for families. Support may include targeted interventions, emotional wellbeing support, personalised strategies, and referrals to external agencies where appropriate.

Where additional support is beneficial, we work alongside external services such as Trafford Teams Together and other professionals to ensure families can access the right help at the right time.

At Kingsway Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child and family feels heard, valued, and supported.
